In 2013, Dr. Jorge García de la Rosa was one of the first bilingual doctors in Mazatlán to dedicate part of his practice to 24/7 house calls. Today, Mazatlán is fortunate to have many more bilingual physicians offering this service from Centro to Cerritos.
Rather than diminishing his role, this change has allowed Dr. Jorge’s practice to develop and deepen. He has become more than a doctor — he is your personal medical champion.
What does this mean?
Maybe you’re feeling unusually low in energy. Perhaps you’ve developed a lingering cough or caught a stubborn cold. Or maybe you’ve had a tumble on one of Mazatlan’s uneven sidewalks. Whatever the situation, Dr. Jorge steps in as your guide and advocate. He will arrange everything from blood tests and X-rays to MRIs and specialized diagnostics. He will explain your results clearly, present your options along with pricing, and give you his professional recommendation — so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
Dr. Jorge also has the title Médico Cirujano, a designation in Mexico that includes surgical training and allows him to assist in the operating room. As a respected independent physician with privileges at multiple private hospitals, he has extensive hands-on experience working alongside surgical teams.
If that sidewalk fall turns out to be more serious — for example, a complex fracture — you may suddenly need an orthopedic surgeon, an anesthesiologist, hospital care, and even follow-up support such as in-home nursing or physical therapy.
This is when you will feel really safe and not alone. He carefully selects the right specialists, the right hospital, and the right plan for your specific needs. He manages the entire process from start to finish.
Experienced, and deeply attentive, Dr. Jorge listens. And when you are in his care, you never feel like just another patient — you feel like his only one.

Testimonials:
[DP March 2021: I cannot express enough our appreciation for everything that Dr. Jorge and the team of medical professionals that he assembled in order to meet my medical needs after incurring a damaged shoulder after a bad fall. Dr. Jorge was called and within 24 hours, I visited his office, had an initial examination, he facilitated getting me to have an MRI, an arm/shoulder brace fitted and pain and anti-inflammatory medications prescribed and picked up, assembled a team (including an orthopedic surgeon and an anesthesiologist) so that surgery could be performed at Marina Hospital the very first thing the next morning. I was discharged and back home in less than a day from the initial fall.
The recovery follow-up that Dr. Jorge and his nurse performed was amazing. The personal attention they provided to ensure that I was properly cared for during my recovery after surgery was tremendously helpful and comforting to both me and my husband. This included every other day visits to clean my surgical wound and make sure no infection was present. Dr. Jorge is a credit to the medical profession and to the community of Mazatlán. We are very lucky and privileged to have him here to attend to our medical needs.]
[SA April 4, 2020: I would like to express my appreciation for the warm and caring help I’ve been given while trying to help a friend who has been in the ICU in critical care at the Marina Hospital since 11 March. The staff has gone out of their way to facilitate a good long-distance relationship with her family and friends while she was there alone in a coma for 2 weeks. Dr Jorge De La Rosa has to be the kindest and most patient health care worker I have ever dealt with in my entire life. After being at work all day he will end the night by responding to my emails at 10/11 pm and will take time on the phone to answer questions and reassure family and friends. He just spent 40 minutes talking with me. Who does that? We will never meet but thank you from the bottom of my heart!
[TH, Jan. 2019] We had friends here during the holidays and one of them caught a really bad cold so we rang Dr Jorge Garcia D’ La Rosa on Saturday morning before Christmas. He answered immediately and came to our condo within an hour and fifteen minutes. He examined my friend and asked her a few questions and then he wrote out his treatment plan and prescriptions. He spoke perfect English and was extremely professional while being very personable. He only charged 900 pesos for a holiday weekend house call! I highly recommend him!
(April 2014, LB says this “ during a momentary lapse while we were chatting, my husband fell off his bike on the driveway and landed on his right shoulder which was already ‘tricky’. This was a Sunday night. He went into mild shock so I decided he needed to see a doctor. Dr. Jorge to the rescue! The doctor looked after my husband so well, even took him the next day to the Diagnostic Lab for X-rays and picked up the meds he needed. I have been singing Dr. Jorge’s praises every since!”)
(This is a testimonial from Lily on the forum WhatsUpMaz. org:”I just had a very positive experience with Doc 24/7. Dr. Jorge Garcia de la Rosa makes house calls as the name suggests, 24/7. I called during regular hours, Mon-Fri, 8am -7pm. Dr. Jorge said he would be at our house between 20-30 minutes and he was. He diagnosed me, drove me to the farmacia and went inside to see I got the right medication from the prescription, then came home and gave me an injection. This was all included in his regular 500 peso fee. I am to call him on Wednesday and let him know how I am doing, another nice touch. His English is excellent. I would highly recommend him.”)
