Until that reopens she has been making house calls – at a distance of course, following all of the Covid-19 protocols. Yulma brings the equipment but it would be great if you have a mat – and obviously a space where she can stand six feet away, ideally an outdoor space. She has various weekly and monthly package offers and will cater to your monthly budget. A class lasts as long as you wish but most clients prefer 30 to 45 minutes. Although she can’t come close and stretch you or have any “hands on” assistance – she has “body awareness” knowledge and will not push you to do a move that is not appropriate for your body. If you do prefer online classes, Yulma offers that too.]

Pino Suarez Market Home Delivery Service – April 9, 2020.  [As of May 6, “older people” are asked to shop from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.If you venture out to shop there is one entrance on Melchor Ocampo, 70 people at a time, and you must wear a mask to enter, 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. The “guards” have hand sanitizer for you.]

Home delivery service by Laura. Hours 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday. If you order before noon you receive your order the same day – in Centro only – from Playa Sur to the Fisherman’s Monument, and west beach to east beach [by the cruise ships].
The WhatsApp number to call or text is 669 126 3784. Laura does prefer a text as she struggles with English on the phone. Order your vegetables and fruit from her store and if want other things -such as eggs, butter, fish etc. Laura will go to those stalls and pick them up for you. She will pay for it and you will reimburse her upon delivery. Once you have placed your order she will text you back the amount from her stall – if you approve that amount and want dairy etc. from other stalls she will text you that amount also. Please have exact pesos ready for her delivery person – including a tip. [SM write on April 24: “Wonderful experience, everything fresh and perfect. Ordered 16 items – Laura asked if I wanted red or green apples. All the produce was well chosen, first-class, just like being there.” MP writes on April 9,2020- “This morning I placed an order in English with Alejandra, Laura’s daughter I think, & within the hour, Victor, her husband, delivered me perfect fruit, veggies & some salsa from another stand. CANIRAC is the restaurant association in Mazatlan.

The supermarket, Soriana has always had an online ordering system. During this stay-at-home period you may want to try it and save yourself a trip outside. Here is the link and yes, it is all in Spanish:

I used it with great success: Order one day ahead and they will give you choice of a delivery time for the next day. You can pay with cash, or a credit card when the delivery person arrives. You can’t pay online, the delivery person will take your credit card transaction or your cash. This is a good thing [not paying in advance] as you may have ordered something that is not available. Soriana isn’t Amazon, with pop-up sayings “sorry, out- of -stock”. If you have placed an order and then remember two hours later that you needed something else, you need to create a new order online and select a different delivery time. Soriana can’t add to your existing order. So far, it seems very efficient, but you don’t know what you’ll get until you get it! [SM April 2020] [a friend ordered from Soriana on Thursday April 9  for an 11 a.m. delivery on Friday April 10 – it did not arrive until 6 p.m. It was Good Friday, or perhaps Soriana is just overwhelmed with deliveries – better late than never..]
