Stay at home services.

Your gym is closed and maybe you are feeling you just can’t get motivated at home. You’ve tried online but you miss the personal contact and being pushed or corrected. Yulma Sanchez has been a personal trainer for 10 years and used to work out of the Level Up gym in Playa Sur. Until that reopens she has been making house calls – at a distance of course, following all of the Covid-19 protocols. Yulma brings the equipment but it would be great if you have a mat – and obviously a space where she can stand six feet away, ideally an outdoor space. She has various weekly and monthly package offers and will cater to your monthly budget. A class lasts as long as you wish but most clients prefer 30 to 45 minutes. Give Yulma a call [also her WhatsApp number] at 669 222 8042 or e mail : Yulma is fluent in English and she’s ready to get you moving again – in your home, at your desired level. [Yulma is also a trained physical therapist. Although she can’t come close and stretch you or have any “hands on” assistance – she has “body awareness” knowledge and will not push you to do a move that is not appropriate for your body. If you do prefer online classes, Yulma offers that too.]

The Nurse Station – a team of licensed nurses who help with your medical needs at home.

Pino Suarez Market Home Delivery Service – will return in January 2021.

TAKEOUT DINING: If you go to CANIRAC’s FB page  – they list all the restaurants, that they are aware of, that are doing takeout – with phone numbers and WhatsApp numbers, Look for the graphic “Directorio de Restaurantes #QuedateEnCasa #Va PorTi.” There are 20 individual photos, it’s like a slide show. CANIRAC is the restaurant association in Mazatlan.  It’s June 8, 2020 – and most the restaurants, regardless if they are part of CANIRAC, are offering take out and in some cases table service.

The supermarket, Soriana has always had an online ordering system. During this stay-at-home period you may want to try it and save yourself a trip outside. Here is the link and yes, it is all in Spanish:

I used it with great success: Order one day ahead and they will give you choice of a delivery time for the next day. You can pay with cash, or a credit card when the delivery person arrives. You can’t pay online, the delivery person will take your credit card transaction or your cash. This is a good thing [not paying in advance] as you may have ordered something that is not available. Soriana isn’t Amazon, with pop-up sayings “sorry, out- of -stock”. If you have placed an order and then remember two hours later that you needed something else, you need to create a new order online and select a different delivery time. Soriana can’t add to your existing order. So far, it seems very efficient, but you don’t know what you’ll get until you get it! [SM April 2020] [a friend ordered from Soriana on Thursday April 9  for an 11 a.m. delivery on Friday April 10 – it did not arrive until 6 p.m. It was Good Friday, or perhaps Soriana is just overwhelmed with deliveries – better late than never..]
